Pure Love

Mural Concept

This mural portrays a young possum nestled in a blooming white magnolia tree, symbolising the pure love and support that Uniting Communities extends to its youth clients. It continues the art series connecting previous works such as the “Mother Tree” installation at the U City office and the “Auspicious Tree” mural at the Smithfield Hub, strengthening the bond between Uniting Communities’ branches while conveying shared values and messages to the public.

Magnolia trees, among the most ancient flowering plants on Earth, symbolize purity, perseverance, dignity, and determination. The possum adds further meaning, representing problem-solving, conflict avoidance, and resourcefulness. Together, they create a narrative of resilience and support.

This mural is complemented by the outdoor mural Proud to Be Yourself, inspiring youth and the community to embrace their individuality and persevere through challenges.
